Brane Cantenac 2019 released

Brane Cantenac 2019 has been released at €39.6 per bottle ex-négociant, down 21.4% on the 2018 release (€50.4). The wine is being offered by the international trade at £498 per 12×75, a 19.9% decrease from the 2018 opening price of £622 per case.

Neal Martin of Vinous awarded the wine 94-96 points, noting “the palate is silky smooth on the entry with filigree tannins, very harmonious, not a deep or powerful Margaux, yet very delineated”.

Jane Anson (Decanter) gave the wine 96 points. James Suckling a 93-94. Jeb Dunnuck a 93-95+, saying, “the grand vin 2019 Chateau Brane-Cantenac takes it up a notch”.

Today’s release comes to the market below a number of recent vintages, yet scored higher than most, just trailing the 2016. Buyers looking for value may consider the 2014 vintage, awarded 92 points from Neal Martin, it is currently offered at a 15.6% discount to the newest release.
