Trade increased by both value and volume this week. It was pushed up by Burgundy, which reached a record weekly high of 26.9% by value. The region’s average trade share for the year currently stands at 14.2%. A number of high value Burgundies were at play this week such as Clos Tart, DRC, Engel and Anne Gros.

The Rhone’s trade share also doubled on last week. Champagne rose from 1.6% to 8.8%, while the USA increased to 2.3%. This coincides with the release of Verite 2015 earlier this week.

Bordeaux, which showed signs of recovery last week, pulled back to just under 50%. The First Growths also dipped slightly.

Still, the commemorative Margaux 2015 was the most active wine by value. It last traded at £11,572 per 12×75, which represents an increase of 176.5% on its release price (£4,250) in sterling terms.

Canon Gaffeliere 2015 was also among the most traded wines this week. It was named #2 in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines of 2018. Since the announcement, the vintage has seen a flurry of trading activity. Its price moved from £650 to £870 per 12×75 overnight.
