Branaire Ducru 2017 has been released at €33.6 per bottle ex-negociant, down 15.2% on the 2016 release price of €39.6. It is being offered at a recommended retail price of £411 per 12×75, a decrease of 13% in sterling terms on the 2016 release of £465 per case. However, the latter is now being offered in the market for a slight discount to its release with stock readily available.
Neal Martin, of Vinous, scored the wine 91-93 points and described it as a “classic in style, very well balanced and with a little more horsepower on the finish than usual”. James Suckling awarded the wine 92-93 points. In his tasting note, he said that Branaire Ducru 2017 “shows a compacted style.”
